CIVIL & ADMINISTRATIVE LITIGATION

We represent our clients in civil cases before the courts of justice of Puerto Rico (including the Court of First Instance, the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court), the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and in administrative proceedings before the governmental agencies of Puerto Rico.
TAX EXEMPTION DECREES
Medical Decrees, Act 20/22, Act 73
We offer advise on the different tax exemption decrees available, both for individuals and corporations, and carry out all the corresponding procedures to obtain the tax decree to which you or your corporate entity may qualify.
If you are a medical specialist, a non-resident who wants to establish in Puerto Rico, export or own an entity that exports services or goods manufactured in Puerto Rico, you could benefit from a tax decree.
NOTARY PRACTICE
Public Deeds, Affidavits
We execute public deeds of purchase and sale, constitution and cancellation of mortgages, wills, homestead ("hogar seguro"), powers of attorney, prenuptial agreements, donations, among others. In addition, we notarize affidavits and other notarial documents.
BANKRUPTCY
Individual, Corporate, Chapters 7/11/13
We represent individuals and corporate entities in liquidation or restructuring processes before the United States Bankruptcy Court under Chapters 7, 11 and 13 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. We advise our clients on the benefits of availing themselves under the Bankruptcy Code protections and when they should file a petition in the Bankruptcy Court.
ENVIRONMENTAL LAW
Energy Law
We advise on the most important federal environmental laws and their enforcement, including the National Environmental Policy Act ("NEPA"), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act ("RCRA"), the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, among others, and their equivalents at the state level. We also advise on current energy laws and the different energy incentives offered by the Government of Puerto Rico.
LABOR LAW
Employment Contracts, Employment Law, Consulting
We represent employees and employers in cases of unjustified dismissals (Act 80), discriminatory dismissals (Act 100), and in other worker-employer disputes in both state and federal courts, as well as state and federal government agencies. In addition, we prepare employment contracts, internal employee behavior policies, and advise on labor issues.
